Dale Hoskins

Wycliffe Bible Translators

Worldwide

Dale serves with the Seed Company, a Wycliffe affiliate that empowers nationals   to translate the Bible into their own language. He focuses on three types of translation: oral Bible storying, oral Bible translation, and traditional Bible text translation. He consults for a large language community in East Africa that knows little of the Gospel and is antagonistic towards Christians. The believers in that region and many seekers are eager to hear God’s Word clearly. Dale meets weekly with translators over the Internet and spends about three months out of each year working alongside them in Africa. He has recently extended his ministry to include Asia as well. Carole serves in recruitment ministries for Wycliffe USA and works on the team that responds to individuals making first-time inquiries about serving with Wycliffe.

 

Prayer Requests:

• Pray for Dale as he trains his team to translate Scripture to communicate God’s Word clearly and powerfully.  
• Pray for more laborers for the harvest as Carole recruits and encourages people to share God’s Word in their own language through Bible translation.  
• Pray that their sons, Carl, Joel, and Eric, will walk with the Lord as they live independently and pursue their education and career goals.

PRAYER & PRAISE ~ July 13-19, 2022

7/13 Hugh & Joanne Roberson 

Cru, USA/Asia 

Please pray for their all staff gathering in Milwaukee, WS, July 13-23, 2022; pray for the logistics and health of all staff attending, for the hearts and communication of speakers, and for the breakout sessions. Pray especially for Hugh and Joanne that God will use this time personally in their lives and ministry. This is their first meeting as a whole group since the Covid outbreak in 2019!

 

7/14 Gary & Esther Smith 

Ethnos360, Papua New Guinea 

Pray for wisdom and grace for Gary as he works through challenges in ministry. Esther has received a good report that the acoustic neuroma in her head has not increased in size the last seven months. Because her symptoms have not been severe, the doctors have given clearance to remain on the field for six months. Praise God for the language group, called Maliyali, which will begin hearing the evangelistic chronological teaching for the first time in the coming weeks.

 

7/15 Sergio & Linda Mijangos 

Avant Ministries, Guatemala 

Please join in praying with the Mijangos for the following requests: that Linda’s medication will prevent any side effects, that the Lord will bless this treatment to completely heal Linda, for the options they are pursuing to receive the treatment considered No. 1 for Linda, and for the Lord’s provision for everything that is required in this journey. 

 

7/16 T & A 

Central Asia

Pray for T & A as they travel to Texas in late July and remain to early September. Pray for them  as they connect with churches, care for T’s mom, connect and encourage their adult kids, and welcome their first grandchild.

 

7/17 AIM – Adventures in Missions 

FBA - Lakeside

Pray for our first “in-person” Adventures in Missions event since the pandemic! Greg and Pam Smith will be our special guest speakers and share updates and exciting news regarding InStep ministry.

 

7/18 Kathryn Wurst 

CMF International, Germany 

Pray for Kathryn and her teammates as they travel to Tennessee for their annual gathering with all the other Globalscope college ministers during July 17^th-24^th (their first gathering since the pandemic began). Pray also as Kathryn finishes well with her small groups and various roles as she transitions off the team.

 

7/19 Oli & Judy Jacobsen

A new Equip Asia class is forming for July 2022, and this time people from South Africa will be added to the multi-national flavor of the class. We are asking the Lord to bring in more students who will be able to join the EA course for the upcoming school year.
