Joshua and Gina Bloomfield are career missionaries with Ambassadors For Christ International. Joshua is Executive Assistant with EvangelismSHIFT Australia. His area of focus is to coordinate the international growth of this AFCI disciple-making movement initiative, working with AFCI National Directors as they launch EvangelismSHIFT to help grow their local ministries.

As members of AFCI, they are developing teams of nationals who focus on accelerating the spread of the Gospel through local churches worldwide based on Jesus’ strategic ministry model.

Joshua and Gina, and their two daughters, live in Sydney, Australia, where they work closely with the Director of EvangelismSHIFT International in the responsibilities of coordinating new and existing channels of ministry within this global movement.

Dear praying friends,

Wow, I can't believe it's been over three months since our last update. Eighteen plane rides, thousands of km driven, countless nights in different beds and 16 weeks without a home BUT in it all, we have felt the love of Jesus through many many people who have sacrificially prayed, given financially and made space in their homes and at their diner table for us. It is such a joy to see His Kingdom advance as we serve Jesus with you.     

The ten days I spent in Europe with the senior leadership from 30 mission organizations serving across 92 countries, at the forefront of church planting movement building was a highlight! Here are a few pictures. Can you spot me below?                   

Thank you for praying, especially for John who was the key note speaker. I learned so much helping him prepare for his talks on, "Four Types of Church Multiplication." Particularly how God used women of the early Church to start households of faith that rapidly multiplied.

 

After our week together many leaders shared with us how impacted they were. Here are some stories: 

Praise God for a church plant team of 30 which has planted approx 15,000 house churches across a particular undisclosed part of Asia.

Please pray that God would use us at EvangelismSHIFT to help them with their greatest challenge of guiding these church leaders in areas of doctrine and finance.        

I'm here with Andy from Australia at the market in Ephesus where Aquila and Priscilla would have done street evangelism while tent making together. Andy was a high school teacher until God re-directed his life.

Please pray for Andy and I as we are working to form a partnership that will see hub churches developing new leaders for their church plants, where Bible college education is not financially feasible.      

    

John and I on a main street in Laodicea, standing at the front door of a 45-room home where, we expect maybe even Lidia, the leader of her household of faith could have met.

 

We have been praying that God would provide a house for us that we could use to start a household of faith that would impact our community just like we read about in Acts.

Thank God with us that the house He has provided has three indoor areas and one outdoor area for groups to meet. Please pray that God uses us and our home as an extension of our local church where people come and find new life in Christ. Please pray for the BBQ we are having this weekend where the men from our church will bring their non-believing friends to experience christian community as a first step in the journey toward Jesus. 
 
We really enjoyed the time we had with our family in Canada and the US. Gina and I both continued our work commitments which made it difficult to focus on relaxing with the fam but so good to see everyone all the same.    

                                            

Please pray for us as we collaborate on how EvangelismSHIFT can best serve the ministry of the AFC International office to develop and guide fruitful ministry leaders and their teams across our 23 nations.

                    

I got to meet so many people with stories of God's faithfulness and hear how He is using them. While in Canada I spoke at a mission conference in Red Deer and a pastors conference in Toronto. Pictured here is a senior leader who was responsible for launching new Teen Challenge facilities around the world.

Now, among other things, he plays the part of Santa Clause in movies and at the local mall where he has had many opportunities to share the Gospel. He told me that after sharing the hope of Jesus with a seventeen-year old who came to take pictures with Santa, she said, "I've just gotten more from Santa in three minutes than I have in 13 years of psychological therapy."

Please pray for Pastor Adam and Steven pictured above that God would direct their life and ministry as we seek to partner as leaders to start disciple-making movement through the local church that will truly impact the secular society in cities across Canada.

Be encouraged, God is truly at work and I can assure you, we can see that He is enthusiastically answering our prayers. Thank you for remembering us in your prayers to activate believers for Evangelism and Church Multiplication through training, coaching, resourcing and Disciple-making Movements.

Praise God for the new home that God has provided Joshua and Gina. They are using it as an extension of their local church where people come and find new life in Christ. Please pray for Joshua and friend Andy from Australia as they work to form a partnership that will see hub churches developing new leaders for their church plants, where Bible college education is not financially feasible.

Pray as they travel to Vancouver for training on how to help people suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Pray as they begin a new semester.

Pray for Eldea, the new intern, as she settles into her new surroundings. Pray as she assists in teaching at By Grace School, that the Jenks will be able to help her in meeting the requirements of her school’s internship program. Pray that all will benefit from Eldea’s time with them.

One of the Across Havering churches hosted the Christian Life and Witness Training in preparation for Franklin Graham’s God Loves You tour. Sixty people received training. Pray for all the preparations for this mission in London on August 26.

Praise God for a new version of their Roman fonts which was released by Wycliffe, adding over 180 characters to support minority languages around the world which need Bible translation.
