GREG & PAM SMITH ~
FBA Faith Promise Missionaries serving with
        InStep International, Inc. USA/Worldwide

The purpose of InStep is to link critical resources. The U.S. has 85 percent of the Christian resources necessary to equip, empower, and engage the Body of Christ to fulfill the Great Commission. Their mission is to involve Christian leaders in strategic partnerships by sharing these resources. They link the spiritual giftedness of American church partners to the ministry needs of international partners. They also focus on developing national leaders who will train pastors, church leaders, and missionaries. The Global HUB model is a unique approach used to implement their strategy of evangelism, discipleship, and church-planting. Beyond 2020 is a strategic, five-year plan to conduct 100 evangelistic crusades and 100 leadership and healthy church seminars, and establish 100 new church-plants by 2025. Each year, InStep mobilizes short-term mission teams to minister in China, Costa Rica, and the Philippines. Visit the website at Instep-usa.com. Read below to learn more about Greg's ministry, as he shared in this recent newsletter.

Today, we rejoice in the Lord!  I wanted to celebrate with you the faithfulness of God.  The impact of our evangelism expressions, church starting strategy, and disciple making mandate is spreading.  In May, we graduated the inaugural class of 19 students from the Word of Hope Island Bible College.  Praise the Lord for this vision to reality in just one year.  Jesus said in John 9:4, “As long as it is day, we must do the works of Him who sent me. Night is coming!”  And that we are doing!  With our InStep Network of partners, the sun never sets on our ministry initiatives around the world.

Ministry Update January – May 2023

  • Five Unity and Urgency Conference YTD.  Total attendance 1,200 pastors on the theme of Stewarding the Pastor’s Life.  Next conference is June 9 in Costa Rica.
  • Preached at the Ministerio Internacional La Cosecha church San Pedro Sula, Honduras to 15,000 attendees.
  • In March, dedicated the New Good News Boat in the Philippines and in May graduated the first class at the Hope Bible College of 19 students. The new class begins June 19.
  • Opened three Loaves and Fish Food Centers for Children.
  • In Nepal, trained 200 church planters in five conferences; 300 women in Godly Family Conference; started five new churches; fed 400 children in Loaves Food Center; 50 baptisms; fifty new salvations, and 200 Bibles and 200 audio Bibles distributed.

  • Philippine partner and pastor Dr. David Sobrepena at the border of south Sudan (shown below on May 20) preaching to one million refugees. First night 75,000 came to Christ.  InStep is providing partnership support for this great move of God.  Three more services followed.
  • May 15 – trained 70 top leaders of Latin America Beyond Success Leadership Evangelism by EQUIP.  In Q1 2023, 126,000 decisions for Christ using the RoundTable model.

Our vision is all about people and it starts with you. People who pray. People who see the kingdom of God as a priority. And people who partner with a shared vision to see a kingdom advancing strategy all over the world. Thank you.

  • The new Good News MV Boat (below) has been launched!  Praise the Lord. It comes with a faith-believing Pastor and donors who trusted God for over $100,000 to replace Gospel Boat One that was destroyed in a water tornado.  Now, with over five island crusades, our total since 2015 is now over 505 islands where the Good News of Jesus has transformed over 130,000 lives.

  • The Hope Bible College first graduating class is pictured above. These students come from surrounding islands for a one-year degree in church starting and evangelism strategies. They enjoy this certified diploma program at a minimal cost of $5,000. InStep is honored to sponsor five students at $1,000 each. Word of Hope Church contributes $2,000 and each student or their home island church provides the remaining $2,000. Our part, their part, and God's part is a winning formula for this new generation purpose. Next class and new students begin on June 19.
  • Finally, the Word of Hope island crusades continue weekly.  The WOH Bible College students lead evangelism opportunities throughout the week and the last picture is one of those blessings this week and they joined the MV Good News Boat.  Hundreds of adults and children have come to Christ.

An Atlanta businessman recently asked me what would be their "return on investing in InStep?"  A great question!  My answer was simply Personal Influence and Eternal Impact.  Granted, as a business investor would consider normal investing, that will not buy a second home or new car; but investing in InStep is about storing up treasures in heaven and eternal rewards to come.  It’s a long-term investment. Thank you for your time in reading this report, your prayers for our network, your investment in our shared vision and your heart for people.  Because of that, WE are delivering God’s word to the nations.

Let’s continue Linking Resources That Matter and advance the Kingdom of God.

 PRAYER & PRAISE ~  June 7-13, 2023

6/7 Andrew & Inna Ryzhkov
Byelorussian Mission, Inc., USA/Belarus/Israel
The Pit Stop conferences that took place in the East, West, and Center of the country of Belarus were a success! Praise God for a total of 500 attendees across these three conferences with 45 people coming to faith in Jesus, dedicating their lives to serve Him. The teenagers also received the Bible and other literature. The hunger to attend is much larger than projected! Pray as they plan to conduct five more conferences this year and ten more in 2024.

The inaugural class of 19 students from the Word of Hope Island Bible College graduated the third week of May. The next class and new students begin today! Please pray for God’s blessings on them!

6/9 DON & SUSIE NEWBY
Retired from Greater Europe Missions
Even though Don and Susie have retired from Greater Europe Mission, please pray for Susie as she has recently gone through a battery of doctors and tests in her fight against PCT. Son Shawn has been tested and also has PCT. They would be grateful for your prayers for them.

6/10 K & C

Pray for K's trip June 1-17 to Greece, and other areas that he and his Iranian minister colleague will find a hotel near the people to whom they plan to minister.

6/11 Gerard & Anne Chalvet
Christian Missions in Many Lands, Inc., France
Pray for the food distribution and meeting with the homeless folks in the streets of Grenoble on Sunday afternoons and with students on the University campus. Praise God for providing a young elder for their church. Pray for several more elders to be trained and placed in leadership.

6/12 OLI & JUDY JACOBSEN
Ethnos360, USA/Asia
The Jacobsens will be back home in the Philippines through June 16. In recent years due to Covid, the field conference with their personnel was not possible, so they are looking forward to the chance to be with their folks, many of whom are recent arrivals in the Philippines. Oli will speak five times. Pray their lives will be a blessing and encouragement to those present.

6/13 Mark & Jana Faus
Sudan Interior Mission, USA/Worldwide
After serving almost five years as Communications Director for the SIM Health Ministries Team, SIM has asked Jana to change roles to assist the work of the Governance Department in SIM International, where Mark leads and serves. Given that the demand and workload for governance consulting and training have increased three-fold over the past year, her experience and expertise will greatly advance governance support for SIM’s 70 global ministry countries.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.” I Corinthians 15:58 (NASB)
