DIANE HARRINGTON - FAITH-PROMISE Missionary . . .
Serving with e3 Partners Ministry, USA, shares this story . . .
"As I was walking
across the parking lot approaching the front doors of the hospital I heard a
voice behind me asking,'Ma'am, ma'am?' I turned around to see a
distraught man pursuing me, almost out of breath. He asked how he could
get a chaplain to come to the room of his wife, she was being taken off life
support that day! My heart went out to him and I assured him I would tell the
chaplain. I went to the hospital room a few hours later to check in on
the family as they were all gathered around the bed of their loved one. The chaplain had indeed come and they were very grateful. The dying woman's
sister spoke to me in the hall and said that she and her sister were believers,
but she was heartbroken for her sister because the grieving children weren't
Christians. I encouraged her to not only pray for them but to lovingly and
boldly share the Gospel at the memorial service, that it was the perfect time
to share the hope found only in Jesus and I was sure her sister would love
it!"
"But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify
the desires of the flesh...But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control...If we
live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit." Galatians 5:16-25
In our busy world today, there are many voices vying for our time and attention. The most important voice to listen for is the voice of the Holy Spirit, which leads us into all truth. We are so thankful for fellow believers who take the time to pause . . . listen . . . and help with the heart of Jesus! Who is God calling you to help or encourage today?
