FALL CLEANING? ~ Give to FBA's Missionary Care Center ~ a ministry to our FBA Missionaries

The Missionary Care Center (MCC) was created in 1989 by a group of First Baptist Church Atlanta women with a heart for missionaries. The center’s purpose is allowing God to show His love to those He has called to serve as missionaries. We do this by ministering to the material needs of FBA Faith Promise missionaries and other qualified missionaries.

The MCC stocks clothing and household goods that are new or in excellent condition. Sections are available for men, women, young adults, and children. The household area is stocked with dishes, sheets, towels, cookware, utensils, and decorator items. Due to storage restraints, we cannot keep large household items and furnishings onsite. However, we keep the contact information for individuals willing to donate these items and match missionaries with contributors as needed.

LINDA & RICK TAYLOR have managed the Missionary Care Center for 23 years  of combined service. We appreciate their dedication and service, along with their wonderful volunteers.

Missionary Testimonials (some of many - go to FBA.org to view more)

We are so grateful for each of you and your work in the Missionary Care Center. It is such a blessing every time we come. We never know what treasures we will find. To have a word of prayer is meaningful as well. Thank you for creating such a warm atmosphere.
Leckman family ~ Campus Crusade for Christ

I cannot thank the volunteers of the Missionary Care Center enough for all the work they have done. But without the donations from the people of the First Baptist Church, they would not be able to serve those of us in missions. I have been blessed beyond measure with many lovely clothes I never would have been able to afford, or even buy. I am the contact person for my ministry, Operation Mobilization, so I have seen many of our missionaries who have been to the MCC be served with love and respect. Over and over I hear of the love they were shown by the volunteers and how appreciative they were that someone would pray for them. I cannot thank the pastors of the church enough for the vision and heart for those of us serving the Lord in missions. Words are not adequate to thank everyone who is responsible for the ministry of the MCC.
In His love,
Shelia Slocum ~ Operation Mobilization

I thank God for the opportunity He has given you to serve us in such a special way. Currently, out of the five things I have on, three of them are from the MCC. It has always been fun going there, where you can "shop 'til you drop" for free. Again, many thanks to you and God.
Kaleb ~ Biblical Ministries Worldwide

We would like to thank FBA for the ministry of the Missionary Care Center. It's always exciting to see how the Lord provides for something we've prayed for. God is so good! It is an honor to serve Him! We especially want to thank you for praying with us. We are humbled and grateful for this precious time.

Volunteer Testimonials

Volunteering at the MCC is a joyful and fulfilling way to serve the Lord.  The personal contact with the missionaries who are serving all over the world is certainly a blessing! It has been my pleasure to have served in the MCC for over  five years and still volunteering three days a week.
Marie Auffant

Who would ever know that my years with Joseph A. Banks clothing would lead me to volunteer with the MCC. God has certainly blessed this decision in many ways.  It’s a constant opportunity to enjoy special Godly co-volunteers, mission families, working in an environment of love, joy, humility, learning and seeing great faith put to the test. Many thanks for the experience.
Mr. Carol Morin

Serving God as a volunteer in the Missionary Care Center has been a real blessing for me. The missionary family is welcomed and greeted by friendly volunteers and soon introduced to the “shopping area.”  The center is inviting and excellently maintained.  My favorite part has been watching missionaries find just what they need and even many times–that extra desire. Recently, I was able to show a missionary lady a beautiful suit that I thought would meet her need.  It fit her perfectly and she said, “I never thought I would have something so nice.”  As we pray with them at the close of their visit, we always thank the Lord for those of the FBA family who gave the items.  It is very humbling to see the thankfulness of joy, and excitement as God supplies the needs of His missionary servants.

How Are Items Made Available?

Items are made available as people give them! As you can see, this is a strategic ministry to support the missionaries. Do you have any nice items or professional services to donate? Or will you serve as a volunteer? If so, please contact us.
