March 16

PRAY DURING RAMADAN . . .

During these days leading up to the time of Ramadan, we would like to help in the effort to set up a prayer covering for the country of Chad.

Ramadan for the year 2022 begins on the evening of Saturday, April 2, lasting 30 days and ending at sundown on Sunday, May 1. Islamic holidays always begin at sundown and end at sundown the following day/days ending the holiday or festival.

YOU have the opportunity to be part of the prayer effort covering the upcoming month of Ramadan in 24/7 prayer in Chad. To participate, go to the following website: https://chad247.pray4movement.org/ and sign up for a time slot to pray during the month of Ramadan.  This is a combined effort between different organizations to see us praying diligently for the "M" (other religion) peoples of Chad to come to know Christ.

Countries where our Faith Promise Missionaries have a focus on witnessing to “M” (other religion) group are:

Central Africa - Chad                            Sudan

West Africa - Senegal                           Greece

Lebanon                                                Middle East - Jordan

Middle East - Turkey                             Central Asia - Taiwan

Central Asia – Afghanistan                   Central Asia – “stan” countries

and the USA

Ramadan is one of the five requirements (or pillars) of Islam. During each of its 30 days, "M"s are obligated to fast from dawn until sunset. During this time they are supposed to abstain from food, drinking liquids, smoking, and sexual relations. This fast is obligatory for all "M"s who are of age - those who are sick or traveling are excused, but are required to make up those days they didn't fast at a later time.

In Chad, women typically spend the afternoons preparing a big meal. At sunset, families often gather to break the fast. Traditionally the families will break the fast with water, dates, and then a multi-course meal. Men will often spend the evening visiting friends and hanging out until late into the night. Many will rise early in the morning for one last drink and meal before the first prayers and sunrise as they then again resume the fast during the daytime hours.

Many in Chad will spend the month of Ramadan doing extra prayers, reading the Quran more devoutly, and overall trying to be more devout in their religious obligations. Many "M"s in Chad hold the belief that if they faithfully observe the month-long fast, their sins from the past year will be erased by Allah.

Let us pray that our "M" friends and neighbors in Chad would come to know the true source of forgiveness in the grace of Jesus Christ!

PRAYER & PRAISE - March 16-29, 2022

3/16 Josh & Gina Bloomfield
AFC International, Australia
Pray for Josh as he continues to work with a group of men who each now lead or plan to start and lead an evangelistic Bible study of their own.  Pray for Gina, who has begun doing Life2Life with two other ladies, one in Sydney and one in Canada. Please pray for each of these, as they encourage each other and step out to share God’s love with others.

3/17 SS - Undisclosed
Thanks to God for the generosity of In Touch Ministries which provided 150 solar powered Messengers with audio Bible in their local language for those who cannot read and write, nor afford to buy a Bible. This priceless gift will change the lives of many families and only God knows how far the ripple effects will go.

3/18 J & R
Central Asia
Pray for the believers and house church leaders who remain in their ministry country to continue to be a witness.  Pray for the protection of the church there and that it would continue to grow even under the oppression of the governing rulers.

3/19 Kathryn Wurst
CMF International, Germany
Please pray for the students who are still asking questions, learning who Jesus is, and deciding if they trust Him or not. Pray for wisdom for the team as they walk alongside them in this journey.

3/20 Ross & Roula Georgiou
Campus Crusade for Christ, Germany
During March all their groups kick off for the year. Pray for the new mentees and mentors that will start the Sports Chaplaincy mentorship program for the first time and the second-year mentees who will continue the program from last year. Pray also for the GSCA members and provisional members who will continue in their professional development meetings.

3/21 BILL & JOY CARRERA
Wycliffe Bible Translators, Peru

Pray for the SAM Peru Conference during March 21-25. Thank God for the provision of a new property for their local church (the only evangelical church in the neighborhood).

Pioneers, Inc., USA
Please pray for Mervat as God brings new people in her path; that God will give His wisdom, discernment, and vision, so this training will be effective for ministry to internationals. Please pray that God will continue to open doors and prepare hearts of the students who are asking about the Lord and longing for Him.

3/23 Brandy Ingle
Wycliffe Bible Translators, USA
Brandy is now officially a Partnership Development Coach with Wycliffe. She is overwhelmed and thankful for the responses she has received from faithful partners in supporting Bible translation through prayers and finances, allowing her to meet her financial obligation.

3/24 Veral & Norma Blake
Ambassadors for Christ, West Indies
Pray for God’s protection of Highpoint Church St. Vincent from Covid 19 so they won’t have to return to virtual service which can affect future attendance. Praise the Lord for the continued and expanded opportunities to communicate the Gospel by way of radio. This year will be 40 years since beginning their radio outreach. While they are broadcast over 11 stations, their reach is global since all these stations are on the worldwide web.

3/25 LUC & SUZY SALSAC
VIANOVA, Belgium

Luc has struggled for several months with heavy fatigue. After a recent blood test, some extra medical exams will be done. Pray for God’s healing. Pray for the Salsacs and their team from March 25-27 as they have a retreat for a special time away to focus on God and rest in Him.

3/26 K & C
Middle East
Pray for the situation in the Ukraine - K knows two mature believers in Christ there - one of them produces excellent articles and videos and translates key portions and clips of major religious leaders into their languages.

3/27 Andrew & Inna Ryzhkov
Byelorussian Mission, Inc., USA/Belarus
Byelorussian Mission began this year with a new project that would change the Holiday season in Belarus for many. From January 3-15, they began what is called "The Christmas Drive" - visiting 400 foster families that are not yet believers. They equipped 25 teams to travel around the whole country, partitioning the country in regions each team could reach, touching the lives of 2500 orphan children with gifts, Bibles, and sharing the true meaning of Christmas. Pray that one day these families with orphan children will find true hope in Jesus Christ.

3/28 Bill & Joy Boerop
World Thrust International, USA/Worldwide
Pray for wisdom in finalizing their new website; may it lead to new opportunities for serving churches to develop a meaningful participation in world missions.

3/29 Paul & Lois Jenks
AMG International, USA/Asia
Praise the Lord that their long-time friend and co-worker, Pastor Pradith Chowsan, will be returning to minister with them and other coworkers in Nan Province, Thailand. This follows a wise leave-of-absence following his wife’s sudden death from a heart attack last year.

***************************************************************************************

FBA is receiving many inquiries of how to help Ukraine in the current crisis due to Russia's horrific invasion. Your gift to FBA’s Faith Promise/Global Missions Fund will provide support to our 28 Faith Promise Missionaries serving in Europe, many of whom are directly involved with providing relief to Ukrainian Refugees. Your gift to Samaritan’s Purse is also encouraged. Thank you!

Pray for God’s wisdom over world leaders as they maneuver, strategize and make major decisions. Pray that God will move in their hearts and guide their steps and plans.

Ask God to let the nations see His glory amid great struggles. Pray that Christ would be glorified through the people of Ukraine and Russia who are following Him.
