PRAY DURING RAMADAN . . .
During these days leading up
to the time of Ramadan, we
would like to help in the effort to set up a prayer covering for the country of
Chad.
Ramadan for the year 2022 begins on the evening of Saturday, April 2, lasting 30 days and ending at sundown on Sunday, May 1. Islamic holidays always begin at sundown and end at sundown the following day/days ending the holiday or festival.
YOU have the opportunity to
be part of the prayer effort covering the upcoming month of Ramadan in 24/7 prayer in
Chad. To participate, go to the following website: https://chad247.pray4movement.org/ and sign up for a time slot to pray during the month
of Ramadan. This is a
combined effort between different organizations to see us praying diligently
for the "M" (other religion) peoples of Chad to come to know Christ.
Countries where our Faith
Promise Missionaries have a focus on witnessing to “M” (other
religion) group are:
Central Africa -
Chad Sudan
West Africa -
Senegal Greece
Lebanon Middle East -
Jordan
Middle East -
Turkey Central Asia -
Taiwan
Central Asia –
Afghanistan Central Asia – “stan”
countries
and the USA
Ramadan is one of the five requirements (or pillars) of
Islam. During each of its 30 days, "M"s are obligated to fast from dawn
until sunset. During this time they are supposed to abstain from food, drinking
liquids, smoking, and sexual relations. This fast is obligatory for all "M"s
who are of age - those who are sick or traveling are excused, but are required
to make up those days they didn't fast at a later time.
In Chad, women typically spend the afternoons preparing a big meal. At sunset,
families often gather to break the fast. Traditionally the families will break
the fast with water, dates, and then a multi-course meal. Men will often spend
the evening visiting friends and hanging out until late into the night. Many
will rise early in the morning for one last drink and meal before the first
prayers and sunrise as they then again resume the fast during the daytime
hours.
Many in Chad will spend the month of Ramadan doing extra prayers, reading the
Quran more devoutly, and overall trying to be more devout in their religious
obligations. Many "M"s in Chad hold the belief that if they faithfully
observe the month-long fast, their sins from the past year will be erased by
Allah.
Let us pray that our "M" friends and neighbors in Chad would come to
know the true source of forgiveness in the grace of Jesus Christ!

Byelorussian
Mission began this year with a new project that would change the Holiday season
in Belarus for many. From January 3-15, they began what is called "The
Christmas Drive" - visiting 400 foster families that are not yet
believers. They equipped 25 teams to travel around the whole country,
partitioning the country in regions each team could reach, touching the lives
of 2500 orphan children with gifts, Bibles, and sharing the true meaning of
Christmas. Pray that one day these families with orphan children will find true
hope in Jesus Christ.

FBA is receiving many inquiries of how to help
Ukraine in the current crisis due to Russia's horrific invasion. Your gift to
FBA’s Faith
Promise/Global Missions Fund will provide support to our 28 Faith Promise
Missionaries serving in Europe, many of whom are directly involved with
providing relief to Ukrainian Refugees. Your gift to Samaritan’s
Purse is also encouraged. Thank you!
Pray for God’s wisdom over world
leaders as they maneuver, strategize and make major decisions. Pray that God
will move in their hearts and guide their steps and plans.
Ask God to let the nations see His
glory amid great struggles. Pray that Christ would be glorified through the
people of Ukraine and Russia who are following Him.
