Bill
and Joy Boerop
World Thrust International, USA/Worldwide
When my wife Joy and
I talked about the worldwide circumstances caused by the Covid-19 virus, we
both said almost at the same time: “These are challenging circumstances, but
not like what we went through as kids.”
Joy, born of missionaries in China, lived there through WW II under
occupation by the Japanese and the Communists, while I grew up in The Netherlands.
My family and I escaped from our home a day before the Germans bombed our house. We lost
everything. This was the beginning of five years under German occupation, where
things got worse by the year. The last year there was little food, thus we ate
tulip bulbs. Added to that was the roundup of the Dutch men (between 18-40) to
work in the German factories. Our Heavenly Father watched over Dad, as they did
not find him in his hiding place.
Yes, the worldwide spread of the virus is
indeed an awesome experience.
How great that we have doctors, nurses, hospitals and scientists working on
solutions. We can also continue work because of modern technology. Our World
Thrust International ministry goes on as we work with individual pastors and
church leaders in the development of their world missions’ outreach. What a
blessing to be able to SKYPE with our directors in different parts of the
world. A monthly email to our 45 leaders around the world is a wonderful way to
encourage them, share with them and assure them that God is still in control.
The scheduled WTI board meeting worked well through a conference call with all
members present. We are not bored or distressed, we keep on moving forward with
His ministry.
We
thank the Lord for First Baptist Atlanta and its partnership through prayer and
financial support.

David & Kathy North
TEAM,
USA/Worldwide
Pray
for the Norths as they meet with three of their Bible College teachers in S.
Africa and Zimbabwe to help them develop plans to teach their students to become
disciple makers and help the churches in their areas reach the lost and make disciples.
Pray for the many missionaries around the world who are struggling with a sense
of purpose as their ministries are being shut down and lockdowns are hindering
their movement.

Pray
for first-generation pastors who led the way for revival through fasting and
prayer (Monday -Wednesday) during September. Pray for positive results of their
Strategic planning and vision casting meetings in each of the seven regions of

Pray
for wisdom in working on Bloom and all its pieces. Pray for wisdom in caring
for his mother and encouraging her each day. She has had problems with
dizziness the last couple of months, with no obvious cause apart from aging.

Touch Mission International, Poland
Pray
for their projects for Fall 2021 – Mentoring Academy, Evangelistic “Thousand Reasons”,
Evangelistic “Before and After”, “Goodness catalogue” – mercy and justice,
e-books, study tours in five growing Polish churches, and Helpline for Youth
ministries’ leaders, and others.

Beverly Minor
Central Missionary Clearinghouse, Austria
Pray
for her church. Many former church members have moved on. They have several
newcomers. The harvest is truly plentiful, but the laborers have dwindled.

TEAM,
USA/Worldwide
Beginning
today, David and Kathy will be facilitating locally an eight-week Discovery
Bible Study for advanced students who are involved in “English Crossing”.
These are primarily immigrants from Russia and Ukraine along with some
Hispanics. English Crossing is a local ministry that their church runs for
internationals to learn English for free. It will be held every Monday
night into early December. Please pray that God will bring the ones that
He wants to be a part of this and that their hearts would be open to Jesus!

Praise
the Lord for leading the Nugunu-speaking community to take on a momentous task
of multi-language Old Testament translation and for the three men involved in
launching such a program that will no doubt take several years to complete. The
preliminary session of the workshop series takes place Nov. 1-5.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast,
immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is
not in vain in the Lord.” I

Thank you for your faithful prayers for our Faith Promise
Missionaries each week. If you're interested in knowing more about
one of the missionaries you have prayed for, we have a program called MAP
(Missionary Adoption Program) where we match church members with a missionary
serving in an area of the world, or in a field of ministry, that is of
particular interest to you for the purpose of praying for and encouraging that
missionary. Interested? Find out more at https://www.fba.org/global-missions/missionary-adoption-program
