TYLER & LARA PATTY ~
Living in the Czech Republic ~
                       Serving with Josiah Venture

Five years ago, the Pattys walked off a plane to begin a new life in the Czech Republic, with a vision to equip the next generation of leaders in Central and Eastern Europe for the mission of God.  He has proven His faithfulness and confirmed His calling to their work. Thank you for your prayers, encouraging love, financial generosity, and your partnership in this Kingdom work.

The Patty Family in the Czech Republic

On January 17 this year, Tyler and Lara celebrated their five-year anniversary of serving cross-culturally with Josiah Venture. God has been doing some great things. Rejoice with them over God's faithfulness as they shared just before Christmas some exciting and big milestones in their life and ministry!

Building Permits granted for base of ministry:

Two years ago, we bought a beautiful plot of land just outside the city of Ostrava. It is tucked between two groves of trees, with a southern view out into farmland. Despite feeling like a cozy haven, it is just a ten-minute drive from the city center where we work and our kids go to school, and ten-minutes from our local church.

During the summer of 2021 we visited many of you in the US and shared our vision of building a house that would be a base for our ministry. Many of you have given to help us make a home where students can encounter the love of Jesus. Since then, we found an architect and a building company, and worked on navigating the complex legal and financial systems of the country. After finalizing our plans, we spent almost a year trying to get various permits and getting a Czech mortgage.

All the waiting and perseverance has paid off -- we officially have building permits from the local authorities!! We are now able to move forward and make a plan for construction in 2023. We are still raising some additional funds to bridge the gap with our Czech mortgage and prepare for the rising costs of building materials.

First ForMission Graduation:
Four years ago we launched the European Campus for ForMission College, in order to prepare the next generation of European leaders for ministry and mission. It is hard work getting a new ministry off the ground. It made our first student graduation all the more sweet though! Last month, seven of the nine who graduated with a BA in Theology, Mission and Ministry got to attend their graduation ceremony. The ceremony was held in a beautiful cathedral in Birmingham, UK, where the College is headquartered.

Each face represents a story of God's faithfulness. These students overcame many challenges, both academic and personal, in order to stand and receive their diploma. We are so proud of them! And we are so privileged to have walked with them over the past three-plus years. Thank you for your prayers and support that allows us to build into leaders like these. Would you pray for them as they move on to the next ministry season God has for them?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Thank you for partnering with us in building up the next generation European missional leaders. We could not do this ministry without you! We hope these letters give you a taste of the impact your investment is having. Please keep us in your prayers in these ways:

·   Pray for our family. We enjoyed this past Christmas season --  especially with Lara's parents Traci and Pat visiting from the US!

·   Pray for Lara as she works on her Czech driving license. And pray for financial provision and smooth process moving forward for our house!

·   Pray for our current 18 ForMission students who have started a new term, which includes new classes such as Mission in a Post-Communist Society and Theology of the God's Mission. You can stay up to date on the life of our college by following our Instagram @formission_eu

·      Continue to pray for our JV teammates responding to the war in Ukraine. Projections suggest that many will be suffering this winter of cold and hunger.

Thank you, First Baptist Atlanta! Your           partnership means so much to our family!

May Jesus, the Light of the world, bring        hope near to you,

    The Patty Family
