Prayer & Praise July 21-27

*Urgent*

7/21 Ignatius Lakra

Source of Light Ministries, India

He fell and hit his head on Monday and he has been dizzy since then. Please pray for Ignatius today as he gets examined by his cardiologist and neurologist. Pray that it's not a serious injury and for a speedy recovery.

7/21 AL RHEA
Cru, Southern & Eastern Africa

Pray for ILU (International Leadership University, Kenya), that it will continue growing in stature and relevance as a creator of knowledge and provider of solutions in theology, leadership, governance, and psychology firmly anchored on the Christian worldview.

7/22 J & K

Central Africa

God is continuing to build his church amongst the unreached peoples of J & K’s ministry country. Monthly reports reveal those who’ve chosen to follow Christ despite difficult persecution.

7/23 TIM & KATHY CUMMINS

Whirlwind Missions, Inc., USA

Please pray for the teams this summer and that many people will accept Jesus as their personal Savior! Pray for the children who fell behind during this past school year. The challenge of education was too much for some, and not all came to the after-school programs.

7/24 F & T

Asia

Pray for the nation of Taiwan as it faces spiking Covid cases, water shortages and rolling power outages in the central area. Pray for believers to care for their neighbors and use this opportunity to love those around them in tangible ways.

7/25 GREG & PAM SMITH

InStep International, Inc., USA/Worldwide

In July, they have a team of 10 in Costa Rica holding seminars on pastoral counseling on the effects of COVID for children, youth, and adults – depression, dependance, and discouragement. Please pray these seminars are well attended and beneficial.

7/26 PAUL & KARAN DAVIS

TEAM, France

Praise the Lord that France is returning to some normalcy, as their curfew ended June 30. All businesses can operate normally, and churches can function normally and in person.

7/27 KEITH & RITA HAYWOOD

OM, USA/Worldwide

Continue to pray for India and for those who are serving on the frontlines to offer medical help, food relief, and spiritual care. Since the last update from the Haywoods, they have been immersed in mobilizing resources for Covid-19 Crisis Response for the Good Shepherd Church/OM India ministry.

*Urgent*

7/27 J&K

Central Africa

Please pray for K as she had several questionable moles removed recently and after being tested, one came back positive for melanoma with unclear margins. Cover her with prayers that this can be eliminated and for God to heal her completely. K sees a dermatologist today (July 27).

A Testimony of How Missions Awareness at FBA

Transformed Lives

Robert & Lara Vitter began attending First Baptist Atlanta on Wednesday nights in 2006. That same year, they were introduced to Missions during Missions Awareness Month in October.

One year later, they were married, baptized, and became members of FBA. But their journey had just begun...

During the FBA Annual Missions Conference in 2007, Robert and Lara, having only recently come to Christ, hosted a Missionary Family. They spent hours sitting around the table listening as this Missionary family poured into them and mentored them.

As they became fully engaged in FBA, God continued to make them aware of His work around the world through their involvement with a Sunday school class that had a relationship with FBA Missionaries.

All of these factors, and many more, were transformational in Robert and Lara's lives. So much so, they felt called into full-time Missionary service as well.

In 2012, Robert & Lara joined FBA's Faith Promise Missionary Family and served in Italy for 7 years until the recent pandemic brought them back to the US.

Six children (one of whom was recently adopted from Ukraine) and many stories of God's faithfulness later, The Vitters continue to follow the Lord in Missions!

Prayer & Praise for July 14 - 20, 2021

 Prayer & Praise for July 14-20, 2021:

VERAL & NORMA BLAKE

Ambassadors for Christ International, West Indies

Pray for the Government as they embark on a massive relief effort and a massive cleanup and restorative effort after the volcano. Pray the people who have been given the go ahead to return to their homes will return with a different mindset towards spiritual matters than they had before because of the experience with the volcano eruption.

J & R

Central Asia

Pray for the Shepherd courses for house church leaders via Zoom every Thursday in July.

PAUL & LOIS JENKS

AMG International, Asia

Pray for the Jenks as they fly back to their home located in the mountains of northern Thailand. Pray that they will have a blessed reunion with their coworkers and adjust to their former routine of teaching and serving there, after having been in the States for an extended time during Covid.

R & B

Central Africa

Pray for our high school students, who during their summer vacation, travel back out to the villages of the six schools to tutor the younger students. They also help the French speaking teachers communicate difficult ideas to the students in the Daza language. It is a great opportunity for them to give back!

OLI & JUDY JACOBSEN

Ethnos360, USA/Asia

FBA was so pleased to have the Jacobsens visit a few weeks ago while they were stateside. They praise the Lord that one of their missionaries was able to finish the Culina NT just before God took him home to glory. Please pray for their hopeful visit to the Faroes Island and Denmark later this year to visit family and supporting churches.

MICHAIL & LOIS LITSIKAKIS

AMG International, Greece

Congratulations to Michail & Lois in the birth of their new baby Alexandros Litsikakis on May 4!  Because their family is growing, they have an urgent need for a new vehicle that is big enough to hold their entire family, plus allow space for their expanding ministry needs. Ask God to provide them with a reliable seven-seater that will be sufficient to meet these needs.

HUGH & JOANNE ROBERSON

Cru, USA/Asia

Praise the Lord that two Christian doctors have been appointed to the Indian Supreme Court’s National Task Force on Oxygen Allocation. Pray for Dr. Gagandeep Kang and Dr. J. V. Peter, Director, both from the Christian Medical College Vellore.

Welcome to the FBA Missions Blog!

Welcome to the First Baptist Atlanta
 Global Missions Blog!!

What began in 1848 through God's faithfulness to reach the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ through First Baptist Atlanta continues today!

With the re-gathering of our church following COVID in February 2021 a new chapter in the life of FBA has begun! While the Message remains the same, the methods may change.

With the increased use of technology during the recent pandemic, we recognized the opportunity that going "online" with our Global Missions communication would provide a way for greater access and impact.

It is with this in mind that we are launching our first ever FBA Global Missions Blog...and we hope you will join us on the journey!

What can you expect from us in the days ahead?

  • We will share the history of how God has worked through FBA Missions.
  • We will update you on ways to be involved in the Great Commission through our Missionary Adoption Program, through prayer, giving, and going!
  • We will share updates from our Faith Promise Missionaries in our "Day in the Life" segments.
  • We will provide daily prayer needs and praises through our Prayer & Praise monthly prayer guide.
  • We will keep you updated on FBA Global Missions gatherings and events like our monthly Adventures in Missions and much more!!
